Week 13- ELL Reflection
After reading through all the videos and information that was provided this week I realized that ELL’s have a very big challenge in learning, and I was able to better understand from where my student was coming from. It was a tremendous learning experience for me to work with Rivky. I learned so much about teaching and dealing with ELL’s. With the ELL case study, teachers can exactly pinpoint student’s strengths, weakness, and what she still needs to work on. With the proper instruction, a dedicated teacher, and a lot of time, effort, and patience every student and an English Language Learner can succeed. I learned that a teacher needs to show respect for the ELL students and where they come from. If teachers show respects and believes in their ELL students, then their peers and classmates will respect and treat them the same like anyone else in the class.
